Mindful toys

Our Sunlit Mini Folk make a wonderful wooden tactile sensory toy which helps children express their individual creativity and imagination through pretend play.
A perfect way to introduce sensory and imaginative play, kids are encouraged to enjoy, explore and investigate.

Small world play is an important aspect of children’s development. This type of imaginative play allows them to process & explore the world in which they live. This builds self-esteem when they discover they can be anything just by pretending!

As children engage in imaginative play, much of it will trend toward real-life scenarios. This is a great way to learn how to creatively problem-solve, and helps build the crucial developmental skill of empathy.

Wooden toys are Timeless and durable

When you invest in learning products for your home, you want to be sure they will last a long time and that they can be reused over time. Something that is versatile enough to grow with your child.

Not only can wooden toys be enjoyed by generations, but the same wooden toys often last throughout generations.

Mini Folk Attributes & Traits

Affirmations can be a powerful tool for children. We can teach children to use affirmations to improve their wellbeing, boost their self-esteem, and encourage creative thinking.

Bunnies

Rabbit folklore and mythology is so wonderfully widespread, and varied in nature.

There are hares as goddesses and the companions of goddesses, rabbits as messengers, as fertility symbols, and as tricksters. Bunnies are associated with Easter and eggs, with the moon, with the elixir of life, with the last corn standing at harvest-time, and with shapeshifting and witchcraft.

Rabbits and their sudden leaps have often been associated with dawns, new months, and new beginnings.

Bunnies have been associated with the goddess of Spring, longevity, good luck, and creativity. Rabbits are most active during dusk and dawn. This is when you have the most open access to the Faerie Realm. This is your best time for play. Because of its nocturnal lifestyle, the rabbit was linked to the Moon and the idea of rebirth as well as being a mythical creature with magical powers.

Celtics associated the circles the rabbits make with the moon cycles. So when a bunny crosses your path, you should consider pursuing a new idea or project.

Although there is the trickster behaviour present again, the African people view the symbolic meaning of a rabbit positively and view them as a spirit of wisdom and kindness. The lucky rabbit’s foot is part of this culture; it’s origins coming from the Hoodoo, a religion combined with witchcraft. This lucky charm must be made out of the left foot of the rabbit, captured during the full or new Moon.

The rabbits unique affirmation whispers:

I am courageous

Mother Earth

༄ Mother Earth ༄ she is one with nature & is guided by the universe. Her emblem represents her connection with the landscape, self-worth & resilience - balancing the spirit of Yang and the sensitivity of Yin.

A delicate petal yin & yang emblem represents the daily rhythm - day becomes night and then night becomes day.

Her details are feminine with nature inspired undertones.

Her unique affirmation whispers:

my voice matters

She offers protection and is capable of nurturing all living things. Our environment relies on her for seeds of creation and unconditional love.

Wild Vine

༄ Wild Vine is all about positive vibes & new beginnings. Her body is surrounded by delicate growing petals, & she resembles two events in nature:

♦ The beginning of each day, which is illustrated in the flowers closing their petals in the evening, and the first to open at dawn to greet the day.

♦ The tiding of spring, illustrated by the sprouting foliage during this transitional season.

Our Wild Vine Mini Folk have been hand-painted in shades of emerald, mint, blush and gold. Her unique features include floral patterns & wandering leaves.

Wild Vine reminds us to “going with the flow” or “grow where you are planted.” A message that when we observe the best of our environment/situation and stay in a relaxed, flowing state of mind, will likely gain our highest advantage.

These interconnections and growing vines encourage connection and diversity (branching and expanding in new directions). Her unique affirmation whispers:

Radiate positive vibes

Sleepy Koala

The snoozing koala is surrounded by Australian gum leaves, gum nuts & flowering blossoms. A sweet little bundle of cuteness!

The sleepy Koala is inviting you to relax, enjoy the moment, and go with the flow of nature. Perhaps one of the most important aspects of the Koala is that they remember the time-before-time. They carry a genetic memory of primeval ancestors and mysteries.

༄ Sacred Dragon ༄

Associated with the salt water ocean, the origin of life on Earth. From the waters, the dragon gave rise to the land and separated it from the sky, as the ocean's horizon does. The dragons unique affirmation whispers:

  - find your fire -

Wildlife was sacred in ancient times, and ancient land guardians worshipped by tribes and would eventually rise to become great gods and goddesses.
Claude Lecouteux, a french folklorist, suggests that dragons were guardians of sacred places in nature – caves, rivers, oceans and mountains.

Tiamat was a primary Goddess in Babylonia: Tiamat was sometimes seen as a Dragon (and mother of dragons) — the personification of elemental forces of Nature that can never be tamed or constrained.

Our Sacred Dragon has been hand-painted in shades of mint, teal, lilac and violet. The dragons unique features include symbolic patterns and soft scales. This design symbolises the elemental forces of untamed nature.

༄ Mystical Owls ༄

Resemble our connection to each other ༄ twins Dawn & Dusk  symbolise a deep understanding and intuitive knowledge.

Owls are linked to the mystical world and bring magic to their companions. They are fierce defenders of the truth and have the ability to clearly see what is happening around them. Their affirmation whispers:

breathe & bloom (Dawn)
magic moon child (Dusk)

Their mystical moon emblems represent wisdom, inclusion & intuition ༄ connecting people and providing a strong sense of belonging.

Dawn has been hand-painted with creamy lilacs & violets, dusty pinks, and sand (with copper & light seafoam detailing). Her feathers are intricate and she wears a delicate daisy headpiece, a mystical moon emblem on her back.

Her brother Dusk is a mixture of toffee, copper and teal - he also displays a mystical moon emblem on his back.

Their unique design reminds us of our interconnectedness, and relationship with one and other. Their feathers signify the connection between the owner (you) and the individual bird - a symbol of trust, honour, wisdom and freedom.

Mermaid Goddess

༄  a Mermaid Goddess who is drawn to the sea & salty air  ༄  Her emblem represents strength, courage & bravery. Her unique affirmation whispers:

Magic Moon Child ⟐

She is wild, adventurous & kind. The Mermaid Goddess sees the world through the lens of her feelings, so her energy is powerful & passionate. You will find comfort in her spirit and sanctuary in her depths.

Our Mermaid Goddess has been hand-painted in shades of teal, seamist, turquoise, caramel & lavender mist (with copper detailing).

Her unique features include swirling seawater, aquatic plants, delicate florals, and a emblem on her chest. The teal mermaid's emblem is a mystical moon, while the caramel mermaid's is beaming sun.

Her carefree nature, flowing hair and daisy chains portray her bohemian spirit ༄

༄ Botanical Bee ༄

Symbolises community, harmony & creativity.  With strong ties to the sun, lunar cycles, light, and warmth. The bees unique affirmation whispers:

  - sing your song -

Bees have a crucial role in the pollination of many Australian plants. They are seen as messengers, reminding us to slow down & be mindful - to stop and smell the daisies & remember that all living things are bound together.

We're both looking at the same moon, in the same world. We're connected to reality by the same line. All I have to do is quietly draw it towards me.” ― Haruki Murakami

Our Botanical Bee has been hand-painted in shades of toffee, sand, charcoal and copper. The bees unique features include playful whimsical bands of copper hair and intricate charcoal patterns, and delicate wings. These designs symbolise the bees connection to the cycle of life & harmony.

Midnight the Cat

Black cats are a classic Halloween symbol & have long served as objects of superstition. In Medieval France and Spain, black cats were associated with witchcraft, bringing an element of mystery, magic & protection.

Black cats have also served as symbols of good luck in numerous cultures. In the British Islands, black cats are often believed to bring affluence to any house they occupied. In Japan, they are also considered to bring good luck. In Ancient Egypt, black cats were worshipped as sacred.

The colour black is actually most often associated with protection, uncrossing, and can be used to ward off any negative vibes that may be thrown your way.

Despite a (very) long history of being known for mischief and mayhem, we’re a fan of the black cat, and Midnight is bound to be one of your fav little creatures.

Willow the Witch

Witches can harness the power of colours in their magickal practices.

It's something that's incorporated in the fabric of our lives, just by virtue of making many small choices throughout the day.

To experiment with colour magick, you can place Willow around your home to help create different energies. See how she changes your mood. Who knew home decor could be witchcraft? Her colours of soft lilac, dusty pink & terracotta are perfect for conjuring up some self-love.

The purple tones throughout my entire Halloween Collection help you to get in touch with your intuition.

Moonbeam the Unicorn

Throughout history, the stunning Unicorn has captured the imaginations of human beings far and wide. The Greeks, Babylonians, and Persians (among others) gave the Unicorn the symbolism and meaning of mysticism, magic, health, and purity.

The Unicorn also has associations with the moon, which is feminine and instinctive. As such, Unicorns represent the sacred marriage and balance between emotions and logic.

Unicorns are the most magical of all Fantasy Spirit Animals. They can move easily between the realms; in this ability, Unicorn represents stretching our imagination and vision to places it’s never been before. Legend has it that Unicorn is also a master of shapeshifting and can, at will, become anything.

Woodland Sprites

Our Woodland Sprites are mushroom themed mini folk - magical faery spirits of nature.

They are highly connected to nature and take care of the natural world. They especially love the Spring months - helping the nature kingdom wake up from its long winter slumber. They also work throughout the hot Summer to help nature shift into autumn, directing nature through its transition into winter. During the cold winter they bring the snows and watch over the natural world while it sleeps.

These special faeries are in charge of the elemental seasons, helping the world transition from one cycle to the next.

༄ The Moon Maiden ༄

is a Japanese folktale that tells the story of a young moonbeam, who was sent down to Earth to bring a message of love & comfort. It explains the shimmering in rivers and lakes and oceans.

The fairytale is a magical story of love, integrity, and self-worth. In the light of traditional Japanese morality tales, this story reinforces values of bravery & kindness. Her unique affirmation whispers:

The moon guides your heart and comforts your soul

To this day, the moon maiden can been seen on a brightly moonlit night in the small ponds, marshes, and glades all across Japan, especially around Mt. Fuji. And, chances are, a small blue and black butterfly will be close by, fluttering in the grassy fields.
