Creative Process
My journal collection has been inspired by my love of the ocean, nature & our connection to the environment. It also reflects my goal to empower my own daughters ~ to teach them that they are unique little people who are kind, smart & important.
I love working with acrylic paints and felt, and enjoy playing with colour. I find the tactile nature of wood & textile products especially satisfying. I've always been drawn to intricate details and patterns, and this is reflected in most of my designs.
Most of my work is detailed and delicate, with nature inspired themes and a mystical folk art vibe.
With a distinct nod to mother nature my collections merge landscape influences with mystical markings, and detailed florals. I love all things feminine, bohemian and magical.
My fabric design for the journal covers combines the essence of each Mini Folk theme - with subtle elements of drift, bloom and dream. A mixture of coastal, floral and dreamy designs.
Design
Our custom Sunlit Folk journal covers utilise a high-definition image of my original hand-drawn artwork.
This repeat pattern has been printed on quality organic canvas with water based inks, and then handcrafted into individual journal covers. The fabric has been printed in Australia using sustainable textile colouration methods ⋒
This original design combines the essence of each theme, with elements of – Drift, Bloom & Dream – A mixture of coastal, floral and dreamy designs.
